Various different actors play different characters, each embodying different stages of Dylan’s life. These characters include a black kid (with a brilliant performance by Marcus Carl Franklin) and a woman (Cate Blanchett). And one of the best actors around, Christian Bale, did a good turn as him too.

I'm Not There

I loved all the Dylan music in the film and the concept was very interesting but I still found it quite tiresome. Maybe I’d get more from it if I knew more about Dylan’s life in a more literal sense. 4 crumbs out of 10.

Ok, there are lots of better ways but this isn’t so bad. This is a remake of a 1957 film which I haven’t seen. Russell Crowe plays the badass thief who gets caught and a posse is organised to escort him to a town three days away where he needs to be put on a train to Yuma.

3:10 to Yuma

Christian Bale’s character joins the posse because he needs the money and what transpires is a battle of wills between the good guys and the bad guys. Ben Foster is brilliant as one of the henchmen trying to free Crowe’s character. The two leads play off each other very well as they share some great scenes and things progress to an entertaining conclusion. 6 crumbs out of 10.
