In Bruges

We’ve all seen film trailers which looked promising only for the film to turn out to be a stinking pile of rubbish. Similarly we’ve all seen trailers that look dreadful and sure enough, the film turns out to be another stinking pile of rubbish. In Bruges is one of those rarities where the trailer made it seem like a dire film but it actually turned out to be pretty good.

Of course, I despise trailers completely and try to never watch them but sometimes they’re unavoidable. The trailer for In Bruges made it seem like a comedy farce with silly humour but in fact it’s quite a dark film. The script is tight and well paced with some very funny scenes and it all builds to a great ending. The performances are all top notch too. 7 crumbs out of 10.
