The Savages

This is quite a good dramedy. It’s mostly drama with some dark comic moment dealing with the morose subject of an eldery parent who is close to death. Laura Linney and Philip Seymour Hoffman are great as the children who have to take care of their ailing father.

The Savages

They hadn’t spoken to their father in 20 years and didn’t exactly get on with him previously. Each have their own personal problems in life to deal with as an indirect cause of this. Quite an affecting film overall and definitely worth seeing. 6 crumbs out of 10.
