Zodiac
A few people mightn’t like Zodiac as much as some of David Fincher’s previous films because it lacks the intensity of the likes of Se7en and Fight Club but that’s a necessity to the story. Although it’s about the hunt for a serial killer, Zodiac has more in common with a procedural thriller like All The President’s Men than it does with Se7en.
The film is based on the true story of the Zodiac killer who is suspected of murdering many people in the San Francisco area in the 60s and 70s. He sent cryptic notes to local papers which got one young employee of the San Francisco Chronicle very involved in the case, eventually becoming an obsession to him even when the police investigation had died down.

Although clocking in at around 2hrs 40mins, the film could have been longer. I got the feeling that Fincher had to make some cuts in order to reduce the running time. Still, it didn’t detract from what is a fascinating film. 7 crumbs out of 10.
